Implant Placement

Our experienced dental team utilizes state-of-the-art technology and advanced techniques to precisely place dental implants with minimal discomfort.

Whether you’re missing a single tooth or multiple teeth, we can customize a treatment plan to restore your smile with natural-looking dental implants.
For patients missing several teeth in a row, implant-supported bridges offer a stable and functional solution that eliminates the need for traditional removable dentures.

This innovative technique allows us to replace an entire arch of missing teeth with just four strategically placed implants, providing a fixed and permanent solution for edentulous patients.

Implant-supported dentures combine the stability of dental implants with the convenience of removable dentures, offering a comfortable and secure fit for patients with extensive tooth loss.

Dental implants are widely regarded as the gold standard for replacing missing teeth due to their numerous benefits:
Natural Appearance
Dental implants are designed to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth, providing a lifelike appearance that enhances your smile.
Unlike traditional dentures or bridges, dental implants are anchored securely to your jawbone, offering a stable and long-lasting solution.
With dental implants, you can enjoy eating your favorite foods and speaking with confidence, as they function just like natural teeth.
Implants stimulate the jawbone, preventing bone loss and preserving facial structure.
By restoring your smile, dental implants can boost your self-esteem and improve your overall quality of life.

Types of Dental Implants

Endosteal Implants

Endosteal Implants

Endosteal implants are the most commonly used type of dental implant. They consist of small titanium posts surgically inserted directly into the jawbone. These implants provide a sturdy foundation for artificial teeth, such as crowns, bridges, or dentures, by osseointegration with the surrounding bone. Endosteal implants are versatile and can replace single teeth, multiple teeth, or even an entire arch of teeth.

Mini Implants

Mini Implants

Mini implants, also known as narrow-diameter implants (NDIs) or small-diameter implants (SDIs), are smaller in diameter than standard endosteal implants. They are typically used in situations where there is limited bone volume or when conventional implants are not feasible. Mini implants are often used to stabilize removable dentures or to replace small teeth in narrow spaces. While they may not be suitable for all cases, mini implants offer a less invasive alternative for some patients.

All on 4 Implants

All-on-4 dental implants

All-on-4 dental implants are a specific treatment concept designed to restore an entire arch of missing teeth with just four strategically placed implants. This innovative approach maximizes the use of available bone and minimizes the need for bone grafting procedures. All-on-4 dental implants offer a fixed and permanent solution for edentulous patients, allowing them to regain full arches of teeth with improved stability and function.

Process of getting Dental Implants

1 2

Consultation and Treatment Planning

In this initial phase, you’ll meet with a dentist to discuss your dental health and goals. Diagnostic tests are conducted to create a personalized treatment plan outlining the number of implants needed and the type of restoration.
2 2

Implant Placement Surgery

During this surgical procedure, implants are placed into the jawbone under local anesthesia. The implants act as artificial tooth roots and are left to heal and fuse with the bone.
3 1

Osseointegration and Healing

Over the next few months, the implants integrate with the jawbone, providing a stable foundation. Proper healing and following post-operative care instructions are essential during this phase.
4 1

Placement of the Final Restoration

Once osseointegration is complete, final restorations such as crowns or dentures are attached to the implants. These restorations are custom-made to match your natural teeth, restoring both function and aesthetics. Regular follow-up appointments ensure the long-term success of the implants.

HOW LONG DOES RECOVERY TAKE?
Because having dental implants involves multiple surgeries and recovery periods in between, the process could take up to six months. Every patient recovers at a different pace. The majority of patients feel some slight pain and swelling within the initial few days. But natural or prescription medications can help with this. After around a week, you can usually resume your regular diet.
Dental implants are a long-term fix that should last a lifetime with the right maintenance. The crown can require replacement in 15 to 20 years in some situations.

The majority of our dental implant patients at Legacy Dental Care are elderly. But occasionally, a younger patient might require dental work to replace a missing tooth. Since they are still growing and developing, we urge patients under the age of 18 not to get dental implants.

I think Dr. Darling deserves 10 stars, but I can only give 5. I haven’t always had the best experiences when it has come to dental care in the past but with Dr. Darling and her staff, it has always been better than expected. I have had the misfortune of needing to contact her office twice for urgent dental concerns. Both times the doctor personally contacted me OUTSIDE OF WORK HOURS to help me. If that isn’t the greatest level of patient care, I don’t know what is. I would highly recommend.
